In these two presentations, Prof Heila Sisitka deepens discussions around adaptation, and risk and vulnerability assessment, and what these activities mean for Trans-Frontier Conservation in Southern Africa. In the first presentation, CCA Strategies for Biodiversity Conservation Contexts, Prof. Sisitka, provides an overview of a range of Climate Change Adaptation strategies relevant to Trans-frontier Conservation Areas in Southern Africa. It covers a range of focus areas, including land & water management; species management, monitoring and planning activities, law and policy, and community-based ecosystem adaptation. In the second presentation, Contextual Data and Park Contextual Profile Data for RVAs, Prof Sisitka provides a discussion on risk and vulnerability assessment in and for Trans-frontier conservation areas in Southern Africa. It shares a range of R&V tool kits currently available. This 1-slide presentation summarises Prof Rob O'Donoghue's model on the types of conversations and collaborations we need to have to deal with the complexity of climate change and their impacts on conservation areas. In this presentation, Building Bridges between: Our Organisations; Other Stakeholders; the Visions we Share; Our Plans and Resources; The Way we Work, Dr Mike Ward provides direction for building bridges between stakeholders and organisational structures towards planning for climate change. |
